Overview

How ePDQ MPI helps your business

If you're looking for an online payment solution that offers you more control of your online payments, our ePDQ Merchant Payment Interface (MPI) solution is ideal. Using the MPI, you can create and host your own payment pages, process transactions captured on your own securely hosted payment pages, run reports directly from the ePDQ engine, and perform other transaction management tasks such as refunds and voids.

Using the ePDQ MPI is more technically involved than the ePDQ CPI (our simple end-to-end solution with payment pages that we host on your behalf). To meet security regulations when you use the ePDQ MPI, you need to be aware that:

  • You're responsible for the security of cardholder details and must adhere to Card Scheme rules and regulations including compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS)
  • You will need to create and pay for your own secure environments.
  • You will need to manage and build any upgrades that become necessary - for instance, to accept new card types.

Integrated for a seamless customer experience

Building your own payment pages offers your customers a payment journey that's completely branded from beginning to end. You can accept all major credit, debit and charge cards, in a range of international currencies. Offering this flexibility gives your customers more choice and could lead to increased turnover.

The payment solution that keeps you in control

With MPI, you can choose settings that meet your business needs, such as:

  • Settlement options for greater flexibility. You can choose when to take payments from your customer's card – for instance, when their order's ready for dispatch.
  • Set up recurring billing transactions, with your customers' consent, saving time and hassle.
  • Management reports that allow you to access account and transaction details online

Support you can rely on

To help you seamlessly integrate this online payment solution, we offer:

  • A dedicated technical support team based in the UK
  • Technical information so your web developer is aware of what's needed to integrate ePDQ MPI
  • Upgrades to keep your ePDQ technologically up-to-date and compliant with security regulations *
  • Integration and user guides

* A cost may apply

Top-level fraud and security protection, for your peace of mind

To ensure you're protected online, ePDQ MPI has several measures in place, such as:

You can also process telephone, fax and mail order payments at no extra cost.

Since all orders are handled on the same system, it simplifies your administration and accounting processes.

* Please be aware that you will also need to integrate the Arcot SDK (Software Developer's Kit) to support Internet Authentication.

Getting started

To integrate payment processing into your website, you'll need an online store and the ePDQ MPI (Merchant Payment Interface), a payment solution that captures and processes cardholder details.

Since ePDQ MPI is hosted by your system, you're responsible for complying with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) to protect your customers' sensitive data.

A step-by-step guide to applying for ePDQ MPI

  1. Apply using our standard application process to start accepting online payments.
  2. Once we've processed your application, you'll receive a welcome letter with your next steps and a URL where you can collect your documentation.

  4. Then for security reasons, we ask you to call us for your password.
  5. You are then ready to start integrating ePDQ MPI into your system and to carry out testing before going live.

Transaction details can be viewed in real time before payment is credited to your bank account. Or once it has been credited, you can access the transaction details online using our Store Administration Tool.

How it works

Integrated payments, competitively priced

When it comes to pricing ePDQ MPI, we believe in offering competitive charges which are excellent value for money.

Our charging structure is split into three parts to allow us to effectively tailor a solution to meet your needs at competitive prices:

  • New customers pay a joining fee, to cover the cost of setting up their account.
  • There's an online solutions charge which is in two parts: a flat monthly fee and a percentage of your transaction values. (Usually credit cards are charged as a % of the transaction value, while a flat fee applies to debit cards).
  • A transaction processing charge that is payable in addition to the online solution charge. This covers the activity of processing the transaction with the card scheme and the customer's card issuer.

The amount you pay will be calculated on a number of factors including your turnover, average ticket price and ratio of credit card transactions to debit card transactions. We will provide you with a full quote when you contact us.

Call Charges: Calls may be monitored or recorded for security and quality purposes. Calls made to 0800 numbers are free if made from a UK landline.
For BT business customers, calls to 0844 numbers will cost no more than 5p a minute, min call charge of 5.9p (current at April 2010). The price on non-BT phone lines may be different.
