Barclaycard Commercial holds a Framework Agreement with the Government, under which it can issue commercial cards on preferential terms to the UK public sector and charities. Organisations are allowed to take the standard GPC, a Barclaycard Commercial Purchasing Card, or a Barclaycard Commercial Travel and Subsistence Card on the same beneficial terms.

With Barclaycard Commercial’s GPC, you get access to a suite of management information enabling you to not only monitor programme activity, but access detailed spend analysis which will enable procurement staff to identify your most frequently used suppliers and negotiate improved terms.
Our enhanced management information software can customise reports for your organisation, so you can gain maximum advantage from your transaction data. Electronic downloads can be uploaded directly into your expense management system, removing the need of manual re-keying of data.
You can also access VAT reporting at the touch of a button. A range of detailed reports, approved by HM Revenue and Customs as sole evidence for VAT reclaims, enable you to keep track of all your VAT data.

We recommend that you review your card programme regularly to make sure you’re maximising the efficiencies and getting the most from it.
Your organisation has an agreed overall limit and each cardholder has their own specific monthly limit. You can also request individual transaction limits within merchant category groups for specific cardholders.
To make it as easy as possible for you, various controls can be modified easily, helping you to maximise your programme by:
- Making sure the right people have the right cards, such as new starters and regular travellers
- Updating individual cardholder limits and transaction limits to make sure cardholders are using their cards effectively
- Reviewing which suppliers take cards so your programme can grow as your requirements and needs change
- Using online reporting to highlight key development areas, such as reviewing transaction limits in line with patterns of spending, or identifying maverick spend to help reinforce procurement policies
