REWARD MONEY IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Please find below some important information about Barclaycard Freedom. This does not replace any of the Barclaycard Freedom Terms and Conditions, which are also set out below.

Where we use capital letters below, the definitions in the Terms and Conditions apply to those words.

Earning Reward Money:

• At most Earn Retailers, you'll earn Reward Money at 1% of the purchase price of your Eligible Purchases that you make using your Barclaycard.
• You may earn more than this if a special offer applies.
• Some Earn Partners may offer additional ways to earn Reward Money. These offers may be sent to you by post or email or promoted on www.barclaycardfreedom.co.uk.
• You will earn Reward Money on Eligible Purchases with Earn Retailers in the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man only.
• You won't earn Reward Money on Excluded Items which, at the moment, are gambling or lotteries, tobacco or tobacco products, prescription medicines and infant milk formula and any other goods and services which we, or a Participating Retailer, tell you about.

Redeeming Reward Money:

• You can use your Reward Money for Eligible Redemptions at Redemption Retailers, wherever you see the Barclaycard Freedom sign, but you won't be able to redeem Reward Money at selected retailers ('Earn Only' Retailers).
• If your Barclaycard has contactless functionality, you cannot redeem Reward Money on a contactless transaction. If you want to redeem Reward Money, you will need to put your card into the terminal.
• At the moment, you cannot redeem Reward Money on an on-line transaction. We will let you know you when you will be able to redeem Reward Money on-line.

Experience at Retailers:

• The experience at retailers may vary because, at Earn Only Retailers, your Reward Money balance will not appear on the terminal or till receipt and you cannot redeem Reward Money (see above). Although you won't be able to see the amount of Reward Money you have earned at the retailer, we will ensure that the Reward Money is added to your Barclaycard Freedom account.
• There may be a delay before Reward Money is applied to your Barclaycard Freedom account in respect of transactions at Earn Only Retailers and online and contactless transactions.

Basic Information:

• Your Barclaycard Freedom account is separate to your Barclaycard card account.
• Reward Money has no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money, sold, used to pay off your credit card bill or traded in any other way.

REWARD MONEY TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Please find below your Barclaycard Freedom Reward Money terms and conditions (the "Conditions"). We administer the programme on behalf of Participating Retailers.

By using your Barclaycard, you will be taken to have accepted these Conditions. If you do not accept these Conditions, you will not be able to take part in Barclaycard Freedom and you must opt out of the programme by notifying us through the Barclaycard Freedom website (www.barclaycardfreedom.co.uk) or by calling us on your usual Customer Services number. If you do, you will lose any Reward Money in your Barclaycard Freedom account(s).

In summary:

• You will earn Reward Money on Eligible Purchases with Earn Retailers in the UK.
• We will record Reward Money in your Barclaycard Freedom account, which is separate to your Barclaycard card account.
• You can use your Reward Money for Eligible Redemptions at Redeem Retailers.
• Reward Money has no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money, sold or traded in any other way.

1. Introduction and Definitions

1.1 These Conditions set out the basis on which you can earn and redeem Reward Money.

1.2 These Conditions form a separate agreement between us and you to the agreement in respect of your Barclaycard account (the "Barclaycard Conditions"). These Conditions are governed by English law.

1.3 Terms that are defined in your Barclaycard Conditions have the same meaning when we use them here.

1.4 We will also use the following defined terms in these Conditions:

• By "Eligible Purchases", we mean any purchases that you or an additional cardholder make in the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man from Earn Retailers. This may include UK/Channel Islands/Isle of Man versions of the Earn Retailers’ websites. You can check which purchases are included as set out in Condition 1.5. Eligible Purchases do not include purchases of Excluded Items.
• By "Eligible Redemptions", we mean any purchases that you or an additional cardholder make in the UK and Channel Islands, from Redemption Retailers. Eligible Redemptions do not include purchases of Excluded Items.
• By "Excluded Items" we mean any goods and services which we, or a Participating Retailer, exclude from the programme from time to time. You can find out which products are excluded as set out in Condition 1.5 or from Participating Retailers.
• "Participating Retailers" means, collectively, the Earn Retailers and the Redemption Retailers. "Earn Retailers" means those retailers at which you can earn Reward Money. "Redemption Retailers" means those retailers at which you can redeem Reward Money. You can find out which retailers are currently taking part in the programme at any time as set out in Condition 1.5.
• "Website" means the Barclaycard Freedom website at www.barclaycardfreedom.co.uk.

1.5 Where these Conditions refer to finding out or checking information about the programme, that information will be available on the Website at www.barclaycardfreedom.co.uk or by calling us on your usual Customer Services number.

2. How do you earn Reward Money?

2.1 Subject to the rest of this Condition 2, you will earn Reward Money on Eligible Purchases that you make using your Barclaycard at Earn Retailers.

2.2 You will earn Reward Money at the rate and/or in the manner applicable to the relevant Earn Retailer. You can find details of the applicable rate and/or manner as set out in Condition 1.5 or from the Earn Retailer.

2.3 Reward Money has no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money, sold or traded in any other way.

2.4 We may make promotional offers from time to time which allow you to earn additional Reward Money when using your Barclaycard to make an Eligible Purchase.

2.5 Participating Retailers may apply additional terms and conditions to earning or redeeming Reward Money on purchases from that Participating Retailer, for example in respect of special offers they promote to you. Any such terms and conditions will apply between you and the relevant Participating Retailer only and do not form part of these Conditions.

2.6 You will not earn Reward Money on:

• any purchase of an Excluded Item made using your Barclaycard;
• any part of the price of a purchase from a Participating Retailer which you redeemed Reward Money to pay for;
• fees, charges and other items applied to your Barclaycard account that are not Eligible Purchases, such as cash withdrawals, balance transfers, cheque purchases, interest, Default Charges, and/or any item charged to your cash balance.

2.7 If you have more than one Barclaycard account, you will have a separate Barclaycard Freedom account in respect of each Barclaycard account. You cannot transfer Reward Money between these separate Barclaycard Freedom accounts. You can only transfer Reward Money in accordance with Condition 3.2.

2.8 You can opt out of the Barclaycard Freedom programme by notifying us through the Website at www.barclaycardfreedom.co.uk or by calling us on your usual Customer Services number and, if you do, Condition 6.3 will apply.

3. Additional Cardholders

3.1 Any additional cardholder(s) on your Barclaycard account will have their own Barclaycard Freedom account (separate to your own) and will be able to earn and redeem Reward Money by using their Barclaycard in accordance with these Conditions.

3.2 You can ask us to transfer Reward Money between your Barclaycard Freedom account and the Barclaycard Freedom accounts of the additional cardholder(s) relating to the same Barclaycard account. Only you can authorise such transfers; additional cardholders cannot authorise transfers.

3.3 You must ensure that your additional cardholder(s) uses their Barclaycard Freedom account(s) in accordance with these Conditions. You are responsible for their use of Barclaycard Freedom accounts, including if they do something which makes you break these Conditions.

4. How can you check your Reward Money balance?

4.1 When a Barclaycard is used at a Participating Retailer the Barclaycard Freedom account balance will usually be displayed on the screen of the card reader and on your receipt.

4.2 You can check your Reward Money balance and that of your additional cardholder(s) by logging on to the Website at www.barclaycardfreedom.co.uk or by calling us on your usual Customer Services number. Additional cardholders can check their own Reward Money balance in the same way.

4.3 We may inform you from time to time about additional ways in which you and your additional cardholders can check your Reward Money balance.

5. How do you redeem your Reward Money?

5.1 Subject to any promotional offer that may be made to you from time to time, the current redemption value of Reward Money is £1 of Reward Money equals £1 sterling and you can redeem your Reward Money at any Redeem Retailer in the UK and Channel Islands to make Eligible Redemptions.

5.2 We may introduce, and subsequently vary, a minimum redemption amount and/or a minimum amount that you must spend on a transaction using your Barclaycard before you can redeem your Reward Money, from time to time. If we do, we will tell you.

5.3 We may apply a maximum limit to the amount of Reward Money which can be redeemed on an individual purchase, and we may vary that limit from time to time. The limit is currently £250. If we vary the limit, we will tell you.

5.4 You may not redeem your Reward Money against any Excluded Items or for transactions that are not in sterling.

5.5 You may only redeem Reward Money once it has been recorded on your Barclaycard Freedom account.

5.6 You will be able to redeem your Reward Money in-store at Redeem Retailers, by using your Barclaycard at the point of sale. You will not be able to redeem your Reward Money if you use the contactless functionality of your Barclaycard to pay, and in other exceptional circumstances. Some Redeem Retailers may also allow you to redeem online or over the phone. You can check how and where you can redeem Reward Money with the Redeem Retailer.

5.7 You may use Reward Money to pay for all or part of the price of an Eligible Redemption. If you use Reward Money to pay part of the price for an Eligible Redemption, you must use your Barclaycard to pay the rest of the price.

5.8 You cannot make a payment in respect of your Barclaycard account balance using Reward Money, including to pay for charges.

5.9 You can use your Reward Money to benefit charities participating in the programme. Details of the charities participating are available as set out in Condition 1.5. You can choose to make a donation by indicating the amount you wish to donate and we will subtract Reward Money with a value equivalent to the amount you wish to donate from your Barclaycard Freedom account and donate that amount to the charity.

6. Losing your Entitlement to Reward Money

6.1 If your Barclaycard account has not been used for 2 years, or longer, Reward Money in your Barclaycard Freedom account and your additional cardholder’s Barclaycard Freedom account may, at our discretion, expire. If Reward Money expires, you and your additional cardholder will lose any Reward Money in your Barclaycard Freedom accounts.

6.2 We will be entitled to suspend your right, and your additional cardholder’s right, to earn and redeem Reward Money if:

• we stop you using your Barclaycard for any reason in accordance with the Barclaycard Conditions, including for example if you fail to make payments on your Barclaycard account, or if mail we send to you is returned to us;
• we reasonably suspect that you have, or any additional cardholder has, committed a fraud on your Barclaycard or Barclaycard Freedom account;
• we reasonably consider that you are, or an additional cardholder is, abusing the programme;
• you breach these Conditions; or
• an additional cardholder fails to use their Barclaycard Freedom account in accordance with these Conditions.

6.3 We will terminate your right and your additional cardholder’s right to earn and redeem Reward Money and you will lose and any additional cardholder will lose any Reward Money in your Barclaycard Freedom account(s) if:

• you notify us that you wish to opt out of the Barclaycard Freedom programme;
• you notify us that you wish to close your Barclaycard account;
• we notify you that we are closing your Barclaycard account in accordance with the Barclaycard Conditions;
• any situation set out in Condition 6.2 occurs that we reasonably consider is sufficiently serious that it justifies our taking this action; or
• you die.

6.4 This agreement terminates automatically if the agreement between you and us in respect of your Barclaycard account terminates.

6.5 We will be entitled to suspend your right and your additional cardholder’s right to earn and redeem Reward Money if it is necessary to do so for reasons outside our reasonable control including:

• technical problems; or
• there has been, or we reasonably suspect there has been or is likely to be, fraud against the Barclaycard Freedom programme.

7. Refunds

7.1 If you get a refund in relation to an Eligible Purchase where you earned Reward Money, we reserve the right to remove that Reward Money from your Barclaycard Freedom account.

7.2 If you have made a purchase from a Redeem Retailer and redeemed Reward Money to pay for all or part of that purchase and subsequently:

• you seek a refund in relation to that purchase in accordance with your legal rights (for example, because the relevant goods are faulty), we will record back onto your Barclaycard Freedom account the part of the price you redeemed Reward Money to pay for. We will not do this if you accept an alternative offer from the Redeem Retailer; or
• you seek a refund in relation to that purchase for any other reason (for example, because you have changed your mind), any refund will be provided by the Redeem Retailer in accordance with its own policies. This may be in the form of, for example store credit or vouchers. We will not record back onto your Barclaycard Freedom account the relevant amount of Reward Money.

7.3 We will monitor your account and refunds activity for signs of abuse such as where we reasonably consider that you are, or an additional cardholder is, seeking to take unfair advantage of the Barclaycard Freedom programme.

8. Changes to these Conditions

8.1 We may change these Conditions, including how you may redeem Reward Money, by giving you notice.

8.2 We reserve the right to withdraw the Barclaycard Freedom programme by giving you notice.

8.3 We will give you 30 days’ prior notice in writing of changes to these Conditions or the withdrawal of the Barclaycard Freedom programme, which may include communications in electronic form. This will not affect your Barclaycard account. If the change is to your advantage, instead of giving you prior notice we may make the change and tell you afterwards.

8.4 We reserve the right to make changes to the Barclaycard Freedom programme, including the Participating Retailers. Details of changes to the programme, including changes to the Participating Retailers, will be made available as set out in Condition 1.5, with as much notice as possible.

8.5 If the Barclaycard Freedom programme is withdrawn or a Participating Retailer leaves the programme, we will make information about how it affects your ability to earn and redeem Reward Money available as set out in Condition 1.5, with as much notice as possible.

DATA PROTECTION

We and other companies in the Barclays Group will collect, use, share and store personal information about you in any way described in the ‘How We Use Your Information’ statement available in your Barclaycard Conditions and the Privacy Policy in the Terms of Use section on www.barclaycard.co.uk. In addition, for the purposes of the administration and management of the Barclaycard Freedom programme we may use and share limited information about you with Participating Retailers and their group companies.
