How Does Chip and PIN Work?

Paying with a Chip and PIN card

  • Insert your Barclaycard in the secure Chip and PIN terminal at the till
  • Your total to pay will be displayed on the keypad screen
  • Enter your PIN on the keypad, making sure that no one can see what you're typing
  • Take the receipt as usual. At the end of the month, check it against your statement.
