A Cash Limit is the amount of your credit limit which you can withdraw in cash. Cash Limits have been introduced as part of our commitment to lending responsibly and are common across other credit card companies.

What is the 4 digit card reference that shows on my Recent Transactions and Statement Pages?

If you have additional cardholders on your card account, the last 4 digits of each card number can be used to identify which cardholder made which purchase. This is possible as each cardholder has a unique card number. If you have no additional cardholders on your card account then the 4 digit card reference number will always be the same, and will correspond to the last 4 digits on your card.

When and how were Cash Limits applied?

From 20th October 2006 we removed the ability from some cardholders to obtain any cash advances in the UK.

From 5th February 2007 we have restricted the amount of cash some customers can withdraw on their Barclaycard to 50% of the credit limit for existing customers and 30% of the credit limit for new customers. This has been communicated either by letter or by a statement message to all affected customers.

Please note:

If you have already received or subsequently receive a letter advising that your ability to withdraw cash has been withdrawn, this overrides any communication which you receive, before or afterwards, limiting the amount of cash you may withdraw.

The ability to withdraw cash on an account can be suspended at any time.

When I log in to my account online, I get the message 'No account summary'. Why?

If you report your card as lost or stolen, to protect your account we block the card and it becomes invalid immediately. As an extra safeguard we also disable access to your account online - so you will not be able to view it.

If you have reported your card with our Lost & Stolen department, once you receive your new card, you will need to register it again for online services because it will have a completely new card number.

We apologise for any inconvenience, however this is a precaution to protect against fraud.
