All new Barclaycards that we issue are contactless-enabled. So if you’ve had your Barclaycard for a while, you’ll be able to use this exciting technology when you get your next card.

Easy to use
To enjoy the convenience of contactless payments, look for the wave symbol to see if the retailer accepts them and then:
- Make your selection.
- Hold your card close to the contactless reader to pay.
- The reader lights up and beeps to confirm that your payment has been processed. If you’d like a receipt, just ask for one.
As secure as chip and PIN, with the same fraud protection
As an additional security measure, we may occasionally ask you to enter your PIN, just to make sure your card has not fallen into the wrong hands.
If your contactless card is misused without your knowledge, you may not be liable as you’re protected from fraud.
* You will be liable if you and any additional cardholder negligently give or provide access to the card, account or PIN details which results in those details being used fraudulently.
More widely accepted
You can use contactless payments wherever you see the wave symbol. There are already over 50,000 retailers nationwide that offer contactless payments.
