You will have recently received a communication from us, explaining various changes we are making to your Barclaycard Conditions.
One of the main changes we are making which will affect most customers is the introduction of a Transaction Fee. This is replacing our current ‘cash handling charge’ and ‘foreign exchange fee’.
The Transaction Fee is 2.99% of the amount of the transaction and will be charged on cash transactions and non-sterling transactions.
The Transaction fee will also apply to the following new types of transaction, ‘Cash-Like Transactions’ and ‘Gaming Transactions’
We will only ever charge one Transaction Fee per transaction. This means the cost of withdrawing cash overseas will be less than at present. In addition, you will also be able to get up to 56 days interest free on all types of non-sterling cash transactions, including cash withdrawals overseas, if you pay off your statement balance in full by the payment date shown.
If the amount of the transaction is less than £100, a minimum Transaction Fee of £2.99 will be charged, except for the following transactions where no minimum fee is applied.
These changes take effect from 28 May 2012. To help you understand how they might affect you we have provided some examples below comparing the old and new charges.
Please see below the list of products these changes do not apply on:
