What is a manual voucher?

A manual voucher is a way to record card details when it's not possible to do a normal electronic transfer with your terminal.

Sales and refund vouchers provide 3 copies of the transaction details, one for your own use, one for the bank to process and one for the cardholder.

  • Merchant copy - The top copy of the completed sales or refund voucher is your record of the transaction.
  • Bank processing copy - The middle copy of the sales or refund voucher should be paid into your local branch of Barclays Bank. Vouchers should be deposited at least no more than 2 banking days afterwards.
  • Cardholder copy - The bottom copy must be given to the cardholder for his or her records or, in the case of a mail or telephone order, it must be posted to the cardholder.
