A new way to help protect you from fraud

With the new way banks are helping protect you from fraud, you’ll sometimes need to confirm it’s you when you pay for things online.

Choose a way to confirm it’s you

There are three ways you can choose from to confirm it’s you - take a look at our ‘How to’ videos and FAQs to find out more about how they work.

The most convenient way to confirm it’s you

The most secure and convenient way to confirm it’s you is with our Barclaycard app - no codes, just a few taps and you’re done. It’s quick and easy to download - and it’s free.

Read on to find out more about how to confirm it’s you.

Our secure Barclaycard app

With the Barclaycard app no codes are needed – you can confirm it’s you with a few taps. Easy. If you don’t already have the app, you can download it from your app store for free.

Text message

We’ll send you a one-time verification code to your UK mobile number, which you then enter into the verification screen to confirm it’s you.

PINsentry card reader

A PINsentry card reader generates a code to enter into the verification screen to help confirm it’s you. To use this, you’ll need to have your Barclaycard and card PIN to hand.

Check your mobile number’s up to date

It’s important that we have your correct UK mobile number so you can confirm it’s you when you’re shopping online.

Check that we have the right one using online servicing, our secure Barclaycard app or by calling us on 0800 151 0900.

Additional cardholders?

If someone else has an additional card on your account, they’ll need to confirm their online purchases using a text message or PINsentry card reader. Make sure we have their correct UK mobile number by using Barclaycard online servicing or by calling 0800 151 0900.
