Terms and Conditions

  • The effective balance transfer fee you will pay is 2.45% of the balance transfer
  • The initial balance transfer fee debited to your account will be 3.5%, we will then apply a credit to reduce the effective fee charged to 2.45% of the balance transfer (A balance transfer fee will apply to each balance transfer that you make)
  • The credit will be applied to your account within 2 working days from the point your balance transfer is processed
  • The credit will show on your account shortly after it is applied, and will be visible on the next statement you receive after that. This may be up to 28 days later
  • We will process your balance transfer on the first working day after your request has been received and payment will be received by the bank or card issuer that holds your other account on the next working day
  • If you make your balance transfer request during your application for a new Barclaycard, then you will commit to making your balance transfer when you sign up to your agreement
  • The amount transferred must not exceed 90% of the available credit on your account. If your credit limit is not enough to cover the balance transfer amount in full, we will ask you to confirm whether you would like to transfer a lower amount
  • We reserve the right to refuse a credit card balance transfer or to limit the amount that you can transfer. We may need to ask you to provide further information before confirming your balance transfer
  • Unless we tell you otherwise, we cannot accept transfers from other credit card or loan accounts held with Barclays Bank PLC or any other Barclays Group company. This includes our Partnership cards – Hilton HHonors™ & Intercontinental Hotels Group
  • You will qualify for this offer provided that:
    • You transfer a balance to your Barclaycard Platinum card within 60 days of opening your Barclaycard Platinum card
    • Your Barclaycard Platinum account is not in default at the time that the credit is due
    • You have not given us notice to withdraw or to close the account at the time that the credit is due
  • If you choose to close your account with other lenders, please let them know in writing
  • You should continue to make payments to your other lenders until it has been confirmed that the balance has been transferred
  • If you do not make at least the minimum payment by the payment due date, or you exceed your credit limit at any time we will remove any promotional rate on your balance transfer and charge you interest at your standard rate instead
