Using Apple Pay

Whether you're buying a pint of milk, hitting the High Street or making in app purchases, using Apple Pay is quick and convenient. With Apple Pay you can make payments for any amount, but some retailers limit the spend to £30.

You can use Apple Pay anywhere that displays the Apple Pay or the symbol. Simply place your iPhone in front of the Contactless reader and put your finger or thumb on the Touch ID – and hey presto, you’ll get a confirmation sent straight to your phone. And on Apple Watch, it’s a double-click on the side button and hold the display up to the Contactless reader.

On your iPhone or iPad, you can use Apple Pay to pay in apps when you see the Buy with Apple Pay button or Apple Pay logo.

No, but some retailers limit spend to £30 and they’ll let you know if they have a maximum limit.

Go to Barclaycard online servicing.

Once you've logged in, select 'Review your Spending' and click on the transaction you‘ve got a question about and then select 'Query the Transaction'. You'll get a number of options to choose from and this will start the process.

Or you can call us.

Yes, but remember to always use the same device to tap in and out of your journey otherwise you could be charged the maximum fare. So make sure you haven’t got any other contactless cards in your phone case and that you’ve got enough battery to last for the whole journey.

Keeping your card details safe

You can rest assured that Apple Pay is a secure way to pay. Your Barclaycard card details are not stored on your device because when you pay using Apple Pay the data is encrypted. And every payment you make requires Touch ID or a passcode for added security.

What if I lose my device or it’s stolen?

Here’s some steps you can take to make sure no-one makes payments from your device if it’s lost or stolen:
  • Use Find My iPhone to set your device in Lost Mode or wipe it clean completely
  • Log into and click settings to stop anyone from making payments with Apple Pay
  • Call us and we’ll cancel it for you
As your Barclaycard details aren’t stored on your Apple device there’s no need to cancel your credit card.
