Using Apple Pay

Whether you're buying a pint of milk, hitting the high street or making in-app purchases, using Apple Pay is quick and convenient. With Apple Pay, you can make payments for any amount, though some retailers may set a contactless limit.

You can use Apple Pay anywhere that displays the Apple Pay mark or the  symbol. Simply double-click the side button (if your iPhone has Face ID) or double-click the Home button (if your iPhone has Touch ID) and put your phone near the contactless reader – you’ll get a confirmation sent straight to your phone. And on Apple Watch, double-click the side button and hold the display up to the contactless reader.

On your iPhone, iPad or Mac, you can use Apple Pay to pay in apps or on websites when you see the ‘Buy with Apple Pay’ button or Apple Pay logo.

Don’t recognise a transaction?

If you use the app, you can dispute a payment and make a claim. Simply click on the transaction you want to dispute, select ‘Help with this transaction’ and follow the steps – we’ll explain what we need at every step.

Or you can call us.

Keeping your card details safe

Apple Pay is a secure way to pay. Your Barclaycard card details aren’t stored on your device because when you pay using Apple Pay the data is encrypted. And every payment you make needs to be authorised by Face ID, Touch ID or a passcode for added security.

What if I lose my device or it's stolen?

Here’s some steps you can take to make sure no-one makes payments from your device if it’s lost or stolen:

  1. Use ‘Find My iPhone’ to set your device in Lost Mode or wipe it completely
  2. Log into iCloud.com and click ‘Settings’ to stop anyone from making payments with Apple Pay
  3. Call us and we’ll cancel it for you

As your Barclaycard details aren’t stored on your Apple device, there’s no need to cancel your credit card.

What you'll need to use Apple Pay

You'll need an eligible device with the latest version of its operating system.
