If your plans have changed and you’ve received a refund to your Barclaycard as a result, you can ask us to transfer any credit balance to your bank account.
Call wait times are longer than usual right now due to coronavirus, so the quickest and easiest way to do this is with our secure messaging service.
If you have more than one Barclaycard, you’ll need to send a secure message for each one separately.
Are there any restrictions?
There are a few – the refund you’d like to transfer must
- Be a credit balance on your account
- Have happened on or after 1 March 2020
- Be transferred to a UK bank account
How do I request a refund?
You can send a secure message by logging into Barclaycard online servicing and selecting 'Secure message centre', which you'll find under 'Help' in the top menu. If you don’t have an online account, you can register in just a few steps.
When writing your message, choose ‘Other’ as your subject and enter the details below in the message space.
Enter the title ‘Credit balance refund’
If you’d like the refund to be transferred to the account you use to pay your Direct Debit, please enter ‘Refund to DD bank account’.
If you’d like the refund to another account, enter
- Your account name
- Your account number
- Your account sort code
Please also include an email address, just in case we need to contact you about your request.
How quickly will the refund appear in my account?
