How do I unlock my Barclaycard PIN?

If you enter the wrong number three times running when making a purchase, even if it's at three separate stores, your PIN will be locked and you won't be able to use it in stores until it's unlocked. To unlock your PIN, you'll need to visit a UK Barclays ATM and enter your PIN correctly. This will automatically unlock your PIN.

To unlock your PIN:

  • Visit a UK Barclays ATM, or the cash machine of many other banks in the UK and enter your PIN correctly. Again, you'll have 3 attempts. This will automatically unlock your PIN.
  • If you forget your PIN, you can view it online by logging in to Barclaycard online servicing and selecting 'View your PIN securely', which you'll find under 'Your details' in the top menu.
  • You'll need to contact our Customer Services Team to unlock your card, or if your card has been retained by a cash machine.

Log in to, or register for Barclaycard online servicing.

If you find your PIN difficult to remember, or you think someone else knows it, you can easily change it to one that's more memorable at a Barclays cash machine, or the cash machine of many other banks in the UK. You'll need to insert your card and enter the current PIN. Select 'PIN services' from the screen menu, and then the 'Select a new PIN' option. Choose a PIN that won't be guessed by someone else, and avoid using simple number patterns, e.g. 1111, 1234, etc.
