How do I pay my bill at a Barclays ATM?

To pay your bill at a Barclays ATM, you need to take your debit or electron card and your Barclaycard statement to the ATM in a Barclays branch, and follow these easy steps:

  1. Insert your debit card into the ATM and enter your PIN.
  2. Select 'Pay Bill' from the menu, this might be shown under 'Other Services'.
  3. You'll then be instructed to scan your QR code under the reader.
  4. When the ATM has read your QR code, it'll display a screen showing the bill payment details (i.e. payee name, reference number and minimum payment), at this point you'll be able to amend the payment amount, but it must be a minimum of £1.
  5. Once you've confirmed your payment, you'll receive a receipt containing a bill payment reference number.

The funds are sent by the Faster Payments Service (FPS) and will reduce your balance on the same working day, if received before 23:45. Barclaycard systems update overnight, therefore the payment won't be visible until the next working day.

We recommend that you always use your latest statement when making a payment. If you're using an older statement, please make sure that payment covers the minimum payment reflected on your latest statement, as this may be different to a previous month's minimum payment amount.

If you're making a payment with your Barclays debit card, the maximum ATM payment amount you can make each day is £2,000.

Please note, if you're making a bill payment from a non-Barclays account, your bank will treat the payment as a cash withdrawal, so it must be within your daily cash withdrawal limit (this is usually around £300, but please check with your bank). The payment will then impact the amount of cash you can withdraw on the same day.

Please note, the combination of the bill payment and the cash withdrawal, must be within your daily cash withdrawal limit. If you want to make a payment that's greater than your daily cash withdrawal limit, you can do so using one of the other payment options listed on your statement."
